Samia Dumbuya: Making Green Skills Accessible

Inspiring words from London based climate educator and founder of The Peoples Ark, Samia Dumbuya, at the International Conference on Ecocide, Human Rights and Environmental Justice. Samia is working to achieve people powered climate action and inclusive decision making so communities can shape just climate futures.

The People’s Ark is a community-centred green skills network that expands access to practical environmental knowledge across the UK. Working from the principles of a Just Transition, the organisation meets communities where they are and builds on the skills and strengths people already hold. Its work is grounded in joy, collaboration, empowerment and the exchange of knowledge across generations and cultures. Through hands-on workshops led by skilled practitioners and tailored consultation services that support inclusive and equitable strategies, The People’s Ark helps close the growing green skills gap while ensuring no one is left behind.
