Special Briefing: The Impact of New ICC Sanctions and Strategies for Resistance

Join us online on Tuesday, 29 September, as we bring together international experts to examine the impact of US sanctions against the ICC, how these threats are being viewed and understood outside the United States, and what strategies can be developed to safeguard the international legal order. 

The United States is preparing sweeping institutional sanctions against the ICC that could prohibit most transactions with the Court as an institution, restricting US companies, organizations, and individuals from providing support and services. Individuals could potentially also be sanctioned for being directly involved in an ICC investigation, arrest, detention, or prosecution. 

If implemented, these broader institutional sanctions will have far-reaching consequences for the ICC, international law, and those working to uphold it.
