Global Racism: A Challenge for the World

Book presentation | Global Racism: A Challenge for the World, by Professor Anna Spain Bradley

Thursday, 19 November 2026 | 17:00–18:00, followed by a reception

Athenaeum Boekhandel, Spui 14-16, Amsterdam

What do different experiences of racism around the world have in common and what can we do about it?

In her new book, Global Racism: A Challenge for the World, Professor Anna Spain Bradley looks at racism beyond national borders. From discrimination against Roma children in European schools to anti-Black racism in the United States and violence against Indigenous peoples in other parts of the world, she shows how different forms of racism are linked by shared histories, ideas and systems of inequality.

Drawing on international law, history and examples from around the world, she challenges us to rethink racism as a global problem that requires a collective response rooted in human dignity and human rights.

Join us at Boekhandel Athenaeum for a conversation with UCLA School of Law Professor Anna Spain Bradley about her new book, what a global perspective can teach us about racism today, and how we can work towards a more just and inclusive world.

The presentation is followed by a reception, so stick around and keep the global racial justice conversation going.

Everyone is welcome. The event is free, but registration is recommended as seats are limited.
